Short-Term Letting - What can I expect?

It is possible to rent a property in Spain for 52 weeks of the year, but this is extremely unlikely. Most experts forecast that an occupancy level of around 15 weeks per year should provide sufficient income to cover the payments on a typical 20 year 70% mortgage and running costs. If you aim for an occupancy level of around 20 - 25 weeks, you should cover your costs and provide a surplus...perhaps to spend on your own holidays!

The more effort you put in to marketing your Spanish property in the first year, the more repeat business you are likely to generate for future years. And don't forget that the most lucrative source of business may be those closest to you, like family, friends and work colleagues.
