Should I use a broker?

If you are in a foreign country, when trying to obtain a mortgage in Spain it would probably be beneficial to use a reputable mortgage broker to source the most appropriate product.

Instead of having to speak to several different lenders to determine the suitability of their products, you can simply instruct one person, the broker, with all of your requirements and provide him/her with all your financial details, proof of income, credit reports etc.

It is then the job of the broker to find the best product for you, based upon your criteria.

The broker will normally charge a fee for this service (typically paid once the mortgage has been granted), but you may consider it money well spent if you are able to quickly and easily find the best product for you.
