Costa Blanca South

The southern part of the Costa Blanca is drier and is home to one of the largest salt plants in Europe. The region is home to popular resorts and impressive wide open beaches. From the sand dunes of Guardamar to the glorious coastline and Terra Mitica of Alicante, there is something for everyone in the Costa Blanca South.

These destinations are very popular with the British with their many restaurants and breathtaking beaches. Shopping and other commercial establishments give this region a very Western feel. The presence of excellent schools and hospitals in Cabo Roig, Playa Flamenca and La Florida in Torrevieja and Plays de Orihuela make this area one of the best places in Spain to permanently settle in.

Further down south, one can find the sea sport town of Guardamar. Archaeological digs have unearthed the remains of Phoenician and Iberian settlements in the sand dunes near the town. If sports are your cup of tea, this Costa Blanca South town has it: golf, sailing, wind surfing, water skiing, underwater diving, canoeing, jet skiing, etc. The town also has extensive sports facilities like the Olympic swimming pool, football pitches, basketball courts, five a side soccer pitches, and tennis courts of the Las Rabosas Sports center.
