The Golden Mile is defined as the exclusive area between the thriving seaside town of Marbella and the neighbouring town of Puerto Banus, home to a marina packed with expensive yachts and speedboats, designer boutiques, bars and restaurants.
The Golden Mile in Marbella begins at the Piruli (locally referred to as the Copper Tower), passing west past the Guadalpin Hotel before reaching the centre of the area which comprises the two most famous 5 star hotels in the Costa del Sol - The Marbella Club Hotel and its sister resort, The Puente Romano Hotel. Opposite the Puente Romano, the area´s Arab influence can be clearly seen. The Saudi Royal Palace and its compound of smaller guest palaces is clearly visible from the road, as is the impressive mosque which is frequented by the royals when they visit every summer.
Before reaching Puerto Banus, the Golden Mile passes yet another exclusive 5 star hotel, the Coral Beach, recently renovated and now managed by Iberostar.
The Golden Mile is rich in many ways. Certainly, the area is home to plenty of wealthy people, but there is also a lavish selection of quality properties in the area.
