Los Alcazares
Los Alcazares, afforded municipal autonomy in October 1983, is located in the region of Murcia along the Costa Calida, the southeastern part of Spain. The town is situated on the western shore of a saltwater lake called the Mar Menor, separated from the Mediterranean Sea by the 22 kilometre strip of La Manga.
It is known for its agricultural industry where farmers supply fresh produce to local markets which is also exported to northern Europe. However, it is mostly known for the vast possibilities of sports, leisure and other activities, such as golfing.
Los Alcazares is also known for its excellent bars, restaurants and cafes that offer great drinks, meals and entertainment. Tourists usually come to enjoy the Mar Menor's warm water and the sunshine that falls on the place for, more or less, 320 days a year. With seven kilometres of sandy beaches, Los Alcazares is the perfect haven for people who love the sea and who are into watersports. Some great guest options are the ample hotel facilities, and the holiday homes and apartments.
Travelling back and forth to Los Alcazares in Murcia is not a problem with regular flights from the nearby San Javier airport to plenty of European destinations. The town is connected to the recently upgraded motorway network which guarantees fast access for visitors who wish to bathe or indulge in activities under the sun any time of the year.
