Mar Menor
Mar Menor, which means "Little Sea", is well known for its lovely location and amenities. It is located in Murcia on the east of Spain. As part of the Costa Calida, Mar Menor is fortunate to be situated in a region that has both a saltwater lake and a Mediterranean shore. It forms an area of 170 sq. km. of salt water lake, the largest one in Europe. Founded in the Roman and Arabic Periods, the Romans took notice of the vast area and started a salt industry.
The lake has appeared as beautiful as this for the last 1000 years, and is constantly being developed to become a certified vacation haven for tourists. The mud and clay found in the area are known for hundreds of years to have essential therapeutic properties.
The sun shines over Mar Menor for over 3000 hours a year. It rarely rains and winters are very mild. Guests are sure to enjoy the location's warm sun, with an average annual temperature of 17ēC and the 21ēC during summer.
With many well equipped golf courses, municipal parks, and beautiful resorts, Mar Menor is one the most visited places in Spain. It is where the famous La Manga Resort is located.
At Mar Menor, the fun of watersports are endless. All guests can sail, dive, windsurf or jetski as much as they want.
